Web vs code started and refused to connect to wsl. In the lower left corner of the status bar, you can see that you're connected to. My issue was closed because no one responded to it. This will update vs code server on your wsl linux distro. Web run terminal > new terminal ( ctrl+`) to open a new terminal instance. After installing that package, vscode was able to start the remote connection with wsl. I had a similar problem that occurred after updating vscode. Should now work in wsl.
