So i followed a youtubers (established youtuber) and adjusted some settings, and found that msfs no longer uses the nvidia gtx1060 as before. Fixed by fussing with the settings in the nvidea control panel a bunch of times. Disable intel speedstep, xmp profiles etc. Web there is a setting in windows. If that doesn't improve things look to performing a clean install of the video drivers using nvidia's built in clean install option. If your system is overclocked: Off to the right you will see a link called graphics settings. When set to off (which mine was) i see the behavior that you describe, cpu around 60% and gpu around 5%. I find that i get much better performance @ 4.7ghz than if i overclock to 5.0ghz. Web go to settings > system > display > graphics settings;
Web just msfs 2020 is the only game which doesn’t want to use my gpu. There is a switch for gpu scheduling. It's the same for me (1080ti and 3600 at 1440p). Web msfs 2020 (ms store, installed on c, msfs content on seperate 2tb m.2 ssd). Web turn off overclock and revert to defaults in case the sim is thermal throttling your cpu which kills fps rates. Web still high cpu on install in december 21, so not fixed. Disable intel speedstep, xmp profiles etc. Web disable cpu & gpu overclocking. I changed everything back (i htink) and it still does not use the gpu. We advise against using overclocked systems to play microsoft flight simulator. Web you will always be cpu bottlenecked with a 3080 on msfs in complex airliners, especially in 1440p.
