After level 60 or so things just get stupid in borderlands 2, even the best guns seem to last three levels max. The characters in borderlands 2 also have more personality than in the first game. The reason for it is the main villain, their impact and what happens to them.

It really feels like a sequel, rather than a standalone game, as there are multiple large references to the original game. The story follows a new group of vault hunters who must ally with the crimson raiders, a resistance group made up of civilian survivors. But both games are still repetitive, in fact besides characters, the environment, story, and loot, they really didn't change anything at all to me, this is why i like borderlands 1. After playing borderlands1 when it was released i fell in love with the game.
